Description

1,2,3-Triazole analogue, 27 (CAS 120241-79-4) is a heteroaromatic building block comprising a 1,2,3-triazole ring directly linked to a pyridine ring at the 3-position. Its molecular formula is C₇H₆N₄ with a molecular weight of 146.15 g/mol. It is also known as 3-TYP.

The compound features an NH-free 1,2,3-triazole tautomer conjugated to a pyridine nitrogen-containing scaffold, conferring a planar, hydrogen-bond-donor/acceptor-rich architecture. This biaryl-like heteroaromatic core is of interest in medicinal chemistry as a bioisostere of imidazole and pyrazole motifs, and the free triazole N–H can participate in directed hydrogen bonding with biological targets. The pyridine nitrogen provides an additional coordination and binding site relevant to metal-chelation and enzyme-active-site interactions.

  • Scaffold for structure–activity relationship studies in heterocyclic medicinal chemistry
  • Reference compound for triazole–pyridine bioisostere investigations
  • Building block for the synthesis of more complex nitrogen-rich pharmacophores
  • Chemical biology tool compound for target-binding and selectivity profiling
