Description
Tofacitinib Citrate (CAS 540737-29-9) is the citrate salt form of tofacitinib, a selective Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor with molecular formula C₂₂H₂₈N₆O₈ and MW 504.50 g/mol. It is also known as CP-690550 citrate, Tasocitinib citrate, and Xeljanz.
Tofacitinib is reported to act as a potent, ATP-competitive inhibitor of JAK1 and JAK3, with selectivity over JAK2 and TYK2 at standard assay concentrations. By blocking JAK-mediated phosphorylation of STAT proteins, it attenuates downstream cytokine signaling through the JAK-STAT pathway, particularly pathways driven by interleukins and interferons relevant to immune regulation.
