NB-360 HCl (CAS 1262857-73-7) is the hydrochloride salt form of NB-360, a potent and selective β-secretase 1 (BACE1) inhibitor. Its molecular formula is C₂₁H₁₉F₄N₅O₂ (free base; HCl salt MW: 449.40 g/mol). It is also known as NB-360 HCl.
NB-360 is reported to inhibit BACE1, an aspartyl protease responsible for the rate-limiting cleavage of amyloid precursor protein (APP) to generate amyloidogenic Aβ peptides. The compound acts as a non-covalent active-site inhibitor, selectively engaging the catalytic aspartate dyad of BACE1 and reducing Aβ production in cellular and in vivo models. Its oxazine-based scaffold confers favorable CNS penetration properties.
